GREEN BAY — Thursday was not a leftover. Thursday was a statement, twice, and a running clock for most of the Fox River.

Bay Port 44, De Pere 7. ScoreStream had it from Suamico. FOX 11 had it as the No. 1 club in the region. MaxPreps had the box: De Pere 0-0-0-7, Bay Port 13-10-7-14. The Redbirds walked in 3-1 after 40-14 over Appleton West. They walked out 3-2. The Pirates have had a running clock in four of five. They are 5-0. If you only watched one Thursday, that was the one.

The desk’s other Thursday did not stay a game either. West De Pere 42, Appleton West 0. The Phantoms are 5-0 and keeping pace with Bay Port. The Terrors are 3-2 after two straight Fox River punches — 40-14 to De Pere last Friday, 42-0 to the other bird on Thursday. West De Pere is FOX 11’s No. 4. Appleton West is the club that just got punched twice.

The undercard was real football, not a graveyard. Notre Dame 70, Green Bay East 0 — Kingston Allen and a 5-0 Triton club. Memorial 49, Madison East 6 at Lussier, a week after the YouTube win over Craig. Pulaski 35, Ashwaubenon 0 — Pulaski looking like the third club in the FRCC North. Green Bay Preble 42, Green Bay Southwest 14. Oshkosh North 21, Sheboygan North 17 — the one that stayed a game.

Green Bay West at Menasha and Bradley Tech at Reagan were never Thursday. They kick tonight.
