The desk’s two for Thursday: De Pere at Bay Port, West De Pere at Appleton West

GREEN BAY — Thursday is not a leftover. The desk is not watching eight games equally. Two are the night.

Game one: De Pere (3-1) at Bay Port (4-0). Fox River Classic. Ranked-on-ranked. The Redbirds just took 40-14 from Appleton West on Friday. The Pirates just took 58-7 from Green Bay Southwest. MaxPreps has Bay Port fifth in the state and De Pere sixteenth. If you only open one tab Thursday, open that one.

Game two: West De Pere (4-0) at Appleton West (3-1). The Phantoms shut out Ashwaubenon 38-0. Now the other bird comes to town, a week after the Terrors walked out of Nowak Family Field down 40-14. West De Pere is fourth on the MaxPreps board. Appleton West is the club that just got punched. That is a Thursday.

The undercard is real football, not a graveyard. Notre Dame (4-0) at Green Bay East (0-4) — Kingston Allen and a 4-0 Triton club on the road. Memorial (3-1) at Madison East (0-4) at Lussier, a week after the YouTube win over Craig. Pulaski (3-1) at Ashwaubenon (3-1). Green Bay West at Menasha in the Banta Bowl.

The YouTube game is not Thursday. ESPN Madison posted the graphic: Friday, 6:30, YouTube. Edgewood (3-1) at Sauk Prairie (3-1). Badger Small. Zimbrick Honda’s PrepMania on the ESPN Madison channel — same slot that carried Lakeside Lutheran at Lake Mills and Craig at Memorial. They have not posted a video ID. The Watch page is holding the live tab. When they go up, it plays there.

Friday’s avalanche sits underneath. Marquette at Catholic Memorial. Kettle Moraine at 4-0 Arrowhead. Oconomowoc at 4-0 Muskego. Hamilton at Brookfield Central. Kaukauna at Appleton North. Homestead at Cedarburg.

Tonight’s problem, when Thursday gets here, is Suamico. De Pere. Bay Port. The other problem is Appleton West. The stream waits until Friday.
